NETTEST has announced TUNICS-Evolution, an all-in-one passive optical component test solution. An extension of NetTest's tunable laser capabilities, TUNICS-Evolution significantly reduces testing time and costs by achieving fast and accurate measurements that validate designs and ensure product quality.
Designed for DWDM narrow-band filter spectral characterisation, TUNICS-Evolution integrates a sweeping, ASE-free tunable laser source and two optical power meters into a single mainframe.
This functionality traditionally resides in two separate testing units. By combining the laser source and power meters into a single unit, engineers can now avoid using multiple instruments, thus speeding up both set-up and testing time.
TUNICS-Evolution models cover a broad spectral range operating within the E, S, C and L bands and features industry-pacing 1pm resolution and ±3pm wavelength accuracy.
They can operate in two modes: one that enables operation at a fixed wavelength for in-process alignment, and a sweeping mode that can be used during final testing.
All the familiar optical spectrum analyser features are available such as a large 12-inch display and typical OSA software features and applications.
