Network Appliance has announced that it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders quadrant for midrange enterprise disk arrays.
In a recently released research note, "Magic Quadrant for Midrange Enterprise Disk Array, 2H07,"1 Gartner asserts, "A midrange enterprise disk array storage vendor in the Leaders quadrant has the market share, credibility, and marketing and sales capabilities needed to drive the acceptance of new technologies.
“It demonstrates understanding of market needs, is an innovator and thought leader, and has well-articulated plans that customers and prospects can use when designing their storage infrastructures and strategies.”
"We are very excited about how we continue to help our customers overcome the ever-growing complexity and data proliferation challenges in their data centre by giving them an opportunity to deploy modular systems for their large-scale storage infrastructures," said Tom Georgens, executive vice president, Product Operations at NetApp.
"Our high-performance storage solutions were specifically developed to transform data centre technology into a competitive business advantage that provides strategic value for customers' enterprise business applications and data management needs."
With NetApp, customers have realised that they no longer have to purchase large, complex, and expensive frame arrays to support their data centre needs.
By coupling high-performance NetApp fabric-attached storage (FAS) systems with unique data management software, customers can increase the availability of critical data and applications, simplify complex data management environments, and significantly increase employee productivity, in order to do more with less.
In addition, NetApp FAS systems simultaneously support Fibre Channel SAN, IP SAN (iSCSI), and NAS, and provide shared access to UNIX, Windows, Linux, and Web data, while offering scalability to higher performance systems with seamless, painless upgrades, offering unmatched business agility.
