Network Appliance names Pat Linehan senior VP of APAC AND EMEA

Network Appliance, Inc., a leading provider of storage and data management solutions, has announced that Pat Linehan, senior vice president and general manager for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), has been named senior vice president and general manager for EMEA and Asia Pacific (APAC).

“NetApp business outside the U.S. has been growing at a significant rate,” said Rob Salmon, executive vice president of Field Operations.

“Now is the time to put the right infrastructure in place to capitalise on international growth opportunities, strengthen the NetApp global execution engine, and expand the NetApp worldwide presence and footprint—with sales, partners, service, support, and marketing as well as HR, finance, and operations functions, which are all required to take business to the next level.”

In the five years since Linehan took the helm as senior vice president of EMEA, the region has enjoyed a 35% compound annual growth rate and contributed nearly $1bn in revenue in the NetApp 2007 fiscal year.

This success was possible due to the development and implementation of a fully functional NetApp team positioned for the growing enterprise market. Linehan developed a strong strategic plan and expanded into new markets with his diverse and effective leadership team.

In his new role, Linehan will be expanding on his success building NetApp business in EMEA and bringing his expertise to APAC to capitalise on the region’s business opportunities.

Linehan will continue to report to Rob Salmon. “It only makes sense for Pat to lead APAC forward,” said Salmon.

“Pat put in place a holistic approach to EMEA that spans all functions required for enterprise success—from sales to service to marketing and finance. Given the opportunities in APAC, I look to him to provide the same leadership there.”

“Asia Pacific has numerous expanding opportunities by country, verticals, and enterprise accounts,” offered Linehan.

“The delivery of these requires a strong working relationship with channels, partners, and employees as well as customers throughout the region. My goal is to expand the success of this geography for us by leveraging our EMEA best practices while tailoring our road map to execution to meet specific challenges and opportunities unique to APAC.”
