Network Appliance introduces new structure in A/NZ based on recent local business success

Network Appliance  has introduced a new structure within its Australia and New Zealand organisation, brought on by the success of the business locally in the past 12 months and prior.

NetApp wrapped-up its financial year on 30 April 2007, with global revenues up 36% on last year.

Within this success, NetApp in Australia and New Zealand continues to meet and exceed customers’ demanding data-management and data-availability requirements, especially around key application integration (including Oracle, Exchange, SAP and SQL Server), the reduction in storage administration required and dramatic improvements in backup and recovery.

Some key A/NZ highlights include:

  • Launch of the VIP Partner Program and the signing of a number of new reseller partners
  • Hosting the first NetApp A/NZ Partner Summit in August, 2006
  • Winning the prestigious IBM “Shark” award for local relationship under the OEM agreement
  • Opened offices in Brisbane, Perth and Wellington
  • Staff numbers more than doubled with most growth in the consulting services and support area.

The NetApp A/NZ restructure includes several key appointments to strategic positions within the business.

Peter O’Connor, Managing Director of NetApp Australia and New Zealand, said, “The pace at which NetApp is expanding in A/NZ means it’s critical we have a solid structure in place that allows us to continue to meet our customers’ storage and data management needs”.

“The roles we have created and the people we have appointed to those positions in recent weeks reflect our firm focus on driving channel business and providing strong customer and partner support across Australia and New Zealand.”

Significant role changes and new appointments include:

  • Scott Morris promoted to Director of Partner and Public Sector Sales, A/NZ
  • Michael DeLandre promoted to National Systems Engineering Manager, Australia
  • Cathy Conroy promoted to Queensland State Manager, Australia
  • Ngahuia McNabb appointed as Wellington Account Manager, New Zealand.

O’Connor said, “We’re outpacing the local data management market and our competitors in terms of growth and we’ve done so in a relatively short timeframe for a few key reasons. One of those reasons is the quality of our employees”.

“Another is the fact that we offer our customers unmatched simplicity in our solutions.

Because NetApp solutions run off a single architecture, customers can partner with us to manage their data when they’re starting out as a small business and expand their requirements easily as they grow, right up to enterprise level, always using the same basic platform”.

“This ultimately saves money for companies large and small, because they don’t have to change storage architectures as their business develops, giving them the benefit of business agility,” O’Connor said.
