German made, washdown two stage helical bevel gearboxes from NORD Drivesystems on show at Australia’s largest manufacturing expo

Having exhibited three years in a row at National Manufacturing Week (NMW), NORD Drivesystems is no stranger at showcasing their product offerings. This year, NORD showcased their new washdown two stage helical bevel gearboxes. 

Tony Sculpher, regional sales manager for NORD (VIC, TAS, SA), says that he is proud of their German made products, which probably places the company ahead if its competitors.

"We are the most German company in the world. All our gearboxes and frequency inverters are made and developed in Germany. We are unique in the market because of our German made products and people aspire to that. We sell a complete package to our customers," says Sculpher.

NORD's new washdown two-stage helical bevels are designed specifically for the food manufacturing industry or any application that has a risk of contamination, making them a hygienic solution. Being a washdown version also means they have super corrosion protection.

their unique lightweight, high strength housing means minimal use of materials were required to produce the various models. A compact design minimises energy consumption, particularly in applications where geared motors need to be moved.

Another offering unique to NORD is their stainless steel coating system, suitable for marine or salt environments.

"The coating protects our gear motors making them last longer and it doesn’t chip," explains Sculpher.

Another product on show at NMW this year was the NORD Gripmaxx™ Bushing System. It offers keyless interchangeable bushing for mounting NORD hollow shaft reducers only a large range of driven solid machine shaft sizes.

According to NORD, Gripmaxx™ provides a high-capacity, zero-backlash, interference fit to the driven machine shaft, thus minimising the possibility of fretting corrosion.

"It uses standard shafting stock which is very forgiving and it is available in metric or imperial size range."
