AICHI, represented in Australia by NHP Electrical Engineering Products , has released MAC-DT transfer switches. They are also simple, solenoid-operated changeover contactors all within the one device. The switches are available in either a three-position switch with an OFF position, or a two-position switch without an OFF position.

A shallow depth allows for reduced depth enclosures which can result in a lower cost installation.

A single coil is switched via two smaller solenoids between normal and emergency power supplies, making operation simple. Once the switch is switched it is self-latching, requiring no more power. There is no continuous coil current flow. The resulting reduced heat output allows smaller enclosures and an overall cost saving.

Aichi switches can be electrically or manually operated or they can be can be converted into Automatic Transfer Switches via a compact logic panel. A logic panel will sense circuit conditions and automatically change over to emergency power when needed. Short circuit protection via fuses or circuit breakers is also available. Aichi transfer switches are available in three or four-pole models up to 5000A.
