NHP Electrical Engineering Products (NHP) has announced that it has been awarded sole distributing rights to the Schaffner range of power quality products. This is effective from October 2009 and applies to the Australian and New Zealand markets.
Schaffner is considered a major player in the electromagnetic compatibility and power quality fields. This includes harmonic mitigation solutions. The brand is known for its reliability and energy efficiency. The Schaffner power quality brand offers a fast, compact and flexible solution for improved power quality. It includes a wide product range.
Schaffner power quality equipment can be categorised into four broad groups:
- Line Filters and Reactors
- Output Filters and Load Reactors including Sine Wave and dv/dt Filters
- ECOsine Active Harmonic Filters
- ECOsine Passive Harmonic Filters
Schaffner power quality products, applicable across most industry groups, mitigate harmonics and/or protect motors and drives. Through harmonic filtering, consumers ensure they comply to set limits and standards, avoid costly problems and hazards associated with high levels of harmonics including equipment failure and associated production downtimes while also actively reducing peak energy demand and if applicable, reducing electrical usage costs in the form of tariffs. Key industry applications include water and waste water treatment plants, the pulp and paper industry, mining, food and beverage processes and petrochemical industries just to name a few.
