NHP Electrical Engineering Products  introduces a new range of safety relays with the new GLP module specifically designed for guard locking applications.

NHP has extended its family of Allen Bradley GSR safety relays from Rockwell Automation with the new GLP module behaving in two modes:

In Safe Speed mode, the module can monitor the speed of the machine via inductive proximity sensors. The low safe speed ensures reduced risk when the operator requires access to the machine for set-up or maintenance.

In Standstill mode, the module can detect when the machine comes to rest. When access to the machine needs to be controlled, the module will unlock the guard door only when the machine has reached a safe state.

The entire GSR safety relay family including the GLP features a certified single-wire communication that eliminates the need for dual channel connection between safety relays. The user can expand and cascade safety relays to create behaviour such as independent zones and enabling switch functionality.
