NHP 's Terasaki products are now online with PowerCad. PowerCad's design software suite provides solutions from basic cable sizing up to complete electrical design and modelling.
Starting with the network single line diagram, the designer is able to assign the loads in the system. From this the software calculates maximum demands, determines the appropriate cable sizes, selects suitable protective devices, and finally undertakes harmonic modelling function of the entire system. In order for the software to accurately model the protective devices in the system, it is necessary to have all data on the device characteristics available as a library in the software.
PowerCad has been integrated into devices including the AR air circuit breakers, the TemBreak moulded case circuit breakers, and NHP's final distribution products, including the Din-T and Safe-T families. PowerCad users can simply download the Terasaki circuit breaker database from the PowerCad website.
The NHP devices have been modelled so that the software can select the appropriate circuit protection device based on the load, prospective fault level, and required coordination with other devices. The software allows the user to adjust the protection settings of circuit breakers and displays the changes. Once satisfactory coordination is achieved, a summary of settings can be produced for the benefit of commissioning engineers.
