SPRECHER + Schuh CA7 contactors are available from NHP with control voltages of 24, 48, 110 and 240V dc as standard.
There are two types of magnet assemblies used for dc control of the Sprecher + Schuh CA7 contactors, a solid iron magnet assembly known as a pure dc magnet, and a laminated magnet assembly that is usually associated with ac controlled circuits.
The six contactors, 4kW to 22kW, are all supplied with true dc magnet assemblies.
The next frame size, 30kW to 45kW, has a conventional ac laminated magnet assembly, which uses a dual wound coil and a late-break contact configuration.
Sprecher + Schuh has introduced a unique coil design for the dc control of the larger CA7 contactors with a totally integrated coil assembly.
There is no need for an external late-break auxiliary contact as it is already incorporated in the coil assembly. This means all of the standard auxiliary contacts on the contactor are available.
This totally integrated dc control system means the contactor coil control is wired as a standard ac control system.
