MOXA Networking has released the EtherDevice EDS-508 switch.
The switch is designed for deployment in factories, and in utility, transportation, and military settings where reliable communication is required in a difficult environment.
MOXA Turbo Ring ensures recovery of the Ethernet backbone within 300ms, helping to prevent network breakdowns.
The switch has self-healing Ethernet redundant ring technology and rapid spanning tree protocol 802.1D/1w for control system communication. It comes equipped with IGMP snooping for filtering multicast traffic from industrial Ethernet protocols. IEEE 802.1p/1Q and TOS DiffServ are suppoorted to increase determinism
The switch supports IEEE 802.1Q tagged VLAN and GVRP protocol to ease network planning for private area networks. Administrators can set up and manage network configuration. They are notified by real time email warnings, relay output signaling, or digital inputs for important integrated sensors when exceptions or abnormal events arise.
The switch is compact, with a high port density, and overall low TCO. It operates from 0°C to 60°C. Models are available for the -40°C to 75°C range. The aluminum case with IP30 protection enables it to withstand vibration and shocks.
The switch is available with 10/100BaseTX Ethernet and 100FX Fiber optical connections.
