Leading global provider of industrial automation solutions, Moxa Inc. has announced that its new PowerTrans series Ethernet switches will be fully interoperable with Elipse Power systems.
Moxa’s IEC 61850 compliant Ethernet switches offer interoperability with Elipse Software’s Power SCADA systems for electrical substation network control, monitoring and management using MMS (Manufacturing Message Specification) protocol.
Dennis Lin, manager of Moxa Power Communication Infrastructure division explains that Moxa has successfully conducted a comprehensive interoperability test between their PowerTrans switches and Elipse Software systems. MMS compatibility allows the PowerTrans switches to be controlled, monitored, and managed via a Power SCADA system, which is critical for reliable electrical substation operation and eliminates the need for additional network management software.
Power SCADA systems can now directly access Moxa’s PowerTrans switches, making network troubleshooting more efficient, and allowing operators to respond quickly during issues. Remote management through Power SCADA systems can also alleviate operation and maintenance requirements to reduce total cost of ownership.
Elipse Software is an industrial automation software producer, primarily involved in designing and selling software for HMI/SCADA projects, and interfaces for many types of applications, especially in power SCADA systems.
The Elipse Software solution, Elipse Power is fully compatible with devices from serial to Ethernet to different IEDs.
