Moxa has introduced a new range of rackmount embedded computers in the DA-820 series.
Moxa’s DA-820 series Quad core i7 high performance rackmount computers are the world’s first native PRP/HSR management servers providing bumpless redundancy to enable efficient, visualised PRP/HSR network management.
With its main operating system running on the Intel Quad core i7-3612QE CPU and QM77 chipset, which supports standard X86, VGA x 2, USB, 2 Gigabit LAN ports, and 2 RS-232/422/485 3-in-1 serial ports, the new Moxa DA-820 embedded computer is equipped with a 4 SATA disk interface and supports RAID 0/1/5/10 functionality by default.
Specifically designed for substation applications that require precise time synchronisation and compliance with IEC 61850-3 standards, the DA-820 rackmount embedded computers feature a flexible design for use in local SCADA, environmental monitoring, video surveillance, protocol conversion, and PRP/HSR redundancy applications. The cyber security function in Moxa’s DA-820 series makes it an ideal solution for enabling secure network communications.

Solutions for PRP/HSR substations
In addition to the DA-820 native PRP/HSR computer, Moxa also plans to launch the PT-G503 PRP/HSR redundancy box (RedBox) in 2014 Q4, the world’s first integrated PRP/HSR RedBox with coupling and QuadBox. Moxa’s PT-G503 RedBox and DA-820 native PRP/HSR management server allow PRP/HSR substations to collect, analyse, and integrate raw data from various devices on a single management platform, enabling efficient and visualised PRP/HSR network management as well as simplifying network diagnosis, troubleshooting, and device condition monitoring.
