Motion Solutions Australia introduces a new range of 6-axis robots from advanced robotic technology specialist Epson Robots.

The new Epson C4 and C4L compact 6-axis robots deliver superior performance in demanding and complex applications with faster speeds, more payload capability and a slimline design. Epson C4/C4L robots are ideal for small parts assembly, dispensing, lab automation, medical device assembly, machine tending, material handling, packaging and electronics among many other applications.

Michael Ferrara, Director of Epson Robots states that their existing Epson C3 robots have been well received in the industry and are being used in a wide variety of applications in the Medical, Automotive, Electronics and Consumer Products segments. The new C4 arms build on the success of the C3 by adding more payload capacity while maintaining the unique SlimLine design originally provided with the C3 arms. The C4L is an extended reach version of the C4, providing up to 965mm of reach.

The SlimLine design of the C4/C4L robots provides exceptionally advanced flexibility with the slim body and compact wrist design allowing for greater motion range and less mechanical restrictions. The robots can easily reach into confined and restricted work spaces from many angles smoothly, which is not achievable with similar sized competitive models.

Maximising part throughput for demanding cycle time requirements, C4 robots are some of the fastest compact 6-axis arms available in the industry.

Key benefits of Epson C4 and C4L 6-axis robots include unmatched motion performance including higher acceleration and deceleration rates as well as advanced linear interpolated motion; high rigidity in a lightweight arm thanks to high quality components; ability to automatically adjust to minimise vibration and maximise speed and acceleration/deceleration rates with Epson’s unique QMEMS vibration sensing technology, resulting in faster cycle times even with heavier payloads; and new RC700 controller providing ease of use, power and reliability.

Epson’s RC700 controller also provides industry leading Epson RC+ Controls software and fully integrated options such as Vision Guidance, .Net support, Conveyor Tracking, GUI Builder, EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus and more.
