PARKER Hannifin, represented by Motion Solutions Australia , has released the Hi-drive range of fully-digital drives for brushless motors with currents from 2A to 100A and operating from 230V or 480V ac supplies.

The series can control asynchronous motors. It has several built in motion control functions including current, torque and speed control, positioning, digital lock, electronic cam, real time mode, S ramp positioning, homing functions and position capture. A resolver or encoder (incremental, SinCos or EnDat absolute) can be used as feedback. An auxiliary encoder input and encoder simulation ports are available. The drives can be configured using PC software.

Fieldbuses available include CanOpen, Profibus-DP, DeviceNet, CANopen, Sercos, Ethernet and Safety Bus. Hi-drive's standard version incorporates a built-in PLC environment programmable with standard languages. A board that is programmable to IEC 61131-3 is available as an option. In addition to Hi-drive's standard inputs and outputs, various I/O expansion boards can be added. An EMI filter is integrated. Holding brake management with a dedicated output port is included as standard.
