Renewable energy solutions company Momentum has joined the global environmental campaign, Earth Hour this year to help carry the important message of going ‘beyond the hour’.
The WWF Earth Hour Awards is part of a campaign to recognise people who have gone ‘beyond the hour’ and taken action to help create a more sustainable planet. This year, Victorian Cate Lawrence of Green Renters received the award in the Education category.
Green Renters is a not-for-profit group set up in 2009 by Cate and her partner after noticing a lack of information available to renters on how to affordably improve the sustainability of their homes.
Green Renters was established with the goal of providing resources and information on living sustainably in rental accommodation.
Based on the belief that environmental change is possible regardless of the kind of home one has, Cate and her partner organise workshops, expos and campaigns for renters, landlords and international students across Australia to learn how to live sustainably while renting.
As a responsible member of the business community and the world at large, Momentum takes their sustainability practices seriously. Momentum congratulates Cate and Green Renters on receiving the award and their efforts to encourage sustainability in Australia.
