Mindjet has released a new tool to help businesses calculate how much they spend and how they can save using better project and task management processes.
According to the company, the Productivity Gains Calculator works out productivity gains by showing the potential dollar value of the gains.
It "provides an estimate, based on the local average wage, of the potential productivity gains your business can make daily, weekly and yearly," Mindjet said.
Businesses input information such as staff numbers, hours per day wasted searching for files and assets, in meetings, and time spent on tasks.
It then calculates a dollar figure in the local currency on how much could be saved it the businesses implemented better management software, where efficiency measures could be implemented, and how much better planning software can save them.
The results are all based on surveys of 5000 professions over a three year period, which determined the time needed for daily tasks and how different work management tools helped the processes.
“Many organisations are looking for ways that technology can help them be more efficient but it’s often difficult to quantify how these efficiencies can assist the business. Through talking with users, we have found that many knowledge workers manage projects and require access to professional software applications for this task. Yet many project tools are either under-utilised or not available to those that also need to collect information, plan and execute tasks effectively which is why we developed this tool,” Conor O’Gorman, Senior Manager APAC and Japan at Mindjet explained.
