MILWAUKEE Electric Tools has released V28 battery technology, allowing formerly corded products to go cordless.
The V28 circular saw can cut over 111m per charge, more than twice as much as a standard 18V tool. The V28 hammer drill produces 48 26mm holes per charge while a standard 18V tool produces 28 holes.
The 28V lithium ion battery delivers increased power and up to twice the run time of traditional 18V models with a slightly lighter batter. The technology allows cordless tools like the Sawzall reciprocating saw, circular saw, percussion drill and impact wrench that are powerful enough for every day professional use.
A built-in fuel gauge tells users how much run time is available, while consistent, fade-free power throughout the discharge cycle ensures the last job is as powerful as the first. This helps prevent getting stuck in the middle of a job as power fades or grabbing a battery with only a small amount of power remaining and need to recharge while on a roof or other inconvenient location.
The composition of the V28 battery contains no cadmium, making it more eco-friendly than other high-powered rechargeable batteries. The battery packs can be recycled. Due to its chemistry and performance optimising circuit the batteries operate at peak performance under extreme conditions such as hot or cold temperatures or battery heating due to heavy use.
