MILLSOM Hoists will use MATEX, at NMW 2004, to release a new large-area modular handling system for use in the industrial robotics industry; the VacuGrip-FX.
The modular features of the VacuGrip-FX are designed to work in tandem with the company's range of Schmalz FM vacuum components enabling customers to combine several large-area vacuum grippers to form a complete system tailored to each handling task.
Elements include a vacuum generator (multi-stage ejector SEM), manometer, basic frame, aluminium cover with mounting flange for the robot and a foam suction mat.
The new product comes in two versions, the FX-SV and the FX-SW, providing customers with an opportunity to choose the best solution to meet their needs.
The FX-SV ensures maximum holding for a variety of surfaces, smooth, rough, airtight or porous. This is achieved by innovative automatic valve technology that ensures vacuum apertures not in contact with the work piece close automatically, reducing loss of suction capacity.
The FX-SW makes light work of handling products with very uneven surfaces through the operation of flow resistors, ensuring that the holding force increases as more of the gripper is in contact with the work piece.
The flexible system provides customers with the opportunity to tailor a system for their business specifications. Pre-configured VacuGrip FX system ready for connection are also available. Stand M1412.
