Mettler Toledo presents the GPro 500 TDL sensor, a range of oxygen gas sensors offering faster measurement, more accurate data and a significantly lower cost of ownership.
Representing a great leap forward in oxygen gas sensors, Mettler Toledo’s GPro 500 sensors are Tunable Diode Laser (TDL) gas analysers, a significant improvement over the extractive analysis system.
Mettler Toledo has combined TDL technology with their expertise in industrial application analytical instrument design to create a probe that delivers the convenience of an in-line sensor and the level of measurement confidence of a top line analyser.
Packed with state-of-the-art technology, the GPro 500 TDL sensor offers exceptional measuring performance, easy installation, and minimal maintenance. In terms of usage, no sample extraction or conditioning is necessary. In addition to being immune to interference from moisture, dust or background gases, the sensors exhibit very low drift.
Conventional TDL gas solutions feature a cross-stack design requiring the receiver to be positioned directly opposite the laser source, causing installation difficulties and requiring regular, troublesome realignment.
However, the GPro 500 incorporates a probe that reflects the laser beam back to the receiver in the sensor head, eliminating any need for alignment. The optical path length is doubled since the laser beam travels twice through the gas stream, resulting in more accurate O2 measurement.
Maintenance is minimised and limited to yearly verifications and occasional cleaning of the optics. The GPro 500 can be left to provide real-time, continuous, accurate O2 measurements, enhancing process safety at all times.
Mettler Toledo’s Intelligent Sensor Management (ISM) technology adds to the features of the GPro 500 by incorporating predictive diagnostics that continually assess the optical path quality and indicate cleaning requirement before measurements are impacted.
