introduces a new range of in-line CO2 sensors for brewery and carbonated soft drinks (CSD) applications.
The InPro 5500i intelligent measurement sensors use industry proven thermal conductivity technology to provide highly accurate and stable CO2 readings. Mettler Toledo Process Analytics has enhanced the thermal conductivity CO2 measurement principle by adding the Intelligent Sensor Management (ISM) functionality that simplifies sensor handling and increases reliability, leading to greater operational uptime.
The InPro 5500i in-line CO2 sensors can be installed easily with a choice of process connections including Varivent, Tri-clamp and 28mm/M42. The hygienic and simple membrane design reduces maintenance requirement, while the absence of moving parts ensures reduced failure rate and high operational uptime. Immunity to background gases such as oxygen and nitrogen allows highly selective CO2 measurement.
Mettler Toledo's ISM technology installed on the InPro 5500i CO2 sensors and comprising of advanced diagnostics tools, Plug and Measure feature, and pre-calibration routine supports trouble-free and fast start-up as well as operation. Calibration of the InPro 5500i is a simple process and can be conveniently performed in-line.
The Membrane Integrity Detection function is a unique feature that informs operators of a drop in membrane reliability and allows them to perform a membrane change before measurements are affected. The Dynamic Lifetime Indicator and Adaptive Calibration Timer inform operators about the servicing requirement of the sensor.
Unlike conventional CO2 sensors, the InPro 5500i protects itself from damage during SIP/CIP cycles or when the purge gas or sensor membrane fails, extending sensor lifetime.
A package consisting of the InPro 6970i O2 and InPro 5500i CO2 sensor using a multichannel transmitter is available for processes that require combined O2 and CO2 measurements.
