Mettler Toledo and SGS will be presenting a free webinar titled "Designing effective food safety management programs for GFSI schemes". The webinar will demonstrate how adopting GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) approved standards can help to improve food safety and process quality in the food production industry.

The effective food safety management program seminars require pre-registration and will be held twice on October 27th 2011 at:

  • 10:00 - 11:00 GMT, and
  • 16:00 - 17:00 GMT.
The food safety webinar is aimed at the many companies who need to comply with expanding regulatory requirements are effected by the all time low of consumer confidence after a number of public food crises scared consumers and the industry during the last couple of years, including:
  • retailers,
  • food manufacturers,
  • foodservice companies,
  • industry associations, and
  • government bodies.
For everybody involved in the food industry documenting manufacturing processes under uniform standards such as BRC, IFS, ISO 22000 and SQF 2000 can help to make production processes as transparent and enhance food safety management.

Mettler Toledo’s Market Manager Food, Mr Urs Berli will talk at the effective food safety management webinar about how Mettler Toledo can help to target audit-proof processes, enhance productivity and support certification efforts in the areas of:

  • enhanced materials traceability,
  • hygienic equipment design,
  • quality data management,
  • improved foreign body detection,
  • appropriate equipment qualification & calibration, and
  • legal metrology.
Mr Berli will be joined by Victor Muliyil, Food Technical Manager, SGS SSC North America who, with more than 26 years of food safety experience, is an accredited multi-sector food safety program lead auditor and trainer. He is responsible for development and upgrading of SGS food safety training courses, audit procedures and audit team technical management.

Mr Mulivil will help to address comparison between the major GFSI approved standards, how to design an effective food safety management program and some common certification obstacles.
