SBS Technologies has announced the release of the RCOM10 rugged 10-slot chassis which is designed to meet the needs of rugged applications including where extreme stiffness and low weight together with conduction cooling and low outgassing are required.
The enclosure is manufactured from aluminium using dip-brazing technology, which guarantees maximum ruggedness at minimum weight. The chassis can be equipped with a 9-slot bus, VMEbus or CPCI or any customer specific bus system. Additionally one slot is foreseen for the power supply (making an overall 10-slot housing).
All I/O wiring harness is routed through the backplane to the dedicated I/O connectors. A power supply with dual redundant power input may be used for providing supply voltages (5V, ±12V) of the boards. Power dissipation of boards is drained by conduction cooling through chassis walls.
Other features include: high shock and vibration immunity, access door on top lid possible, provisions for six LEDs, external bonding strap, fixation of box by spring loaded fasteners, venting holes for pressure compensation and power monitoring. Metromatics 07 3868 4255.
