ITS America has recently introduced Model 6055B a new multi channel IRIG Inserter.
The IRIG Inserter provides for the insertion of alphanumeric messages, IRIG time and edge encoded data into ten, asynchronous, RS-170, NTSC or S-Video signals.
Annotation, positioning of the IRIG time message and positioning of the alarm messages can be done via the keyboard and/or the RS-232 port.
The IRIG time may also be transmitted over the RS-232 port upon command from the keyboard or the RS-232 port. Twenty discrete control inputs, two per channel are used to enable the alarm messages with either a TTL level or a contact closure.
A loss of IRIG B input causes the 6055B to automatically switch to an internal real time clock. If it is desired to operate the unit without IRIG input this clock may be set by either the keyboard or via the RS-232 port.
The 6055B has two modes of insertion, constant contrast and white with black border, independently selectable for each channel via front panel switches. The overlay intensity is controlled by front panel controls.
The Data Encode function encodes the time and selected text; independently into each video channel using the Left Edge encode method. Data may be read by the ITS models 6042 or 6142A Decoders or other decoders conforming to the RCC Document 452-86 Section 7, specification.
The inserter includes an IRIG synchronised countdown clock. The countdown clock is set by the keyboard or RS-232 inputs. Enable (start) and load (preset) are controlled by TTL or contact closure inputs.
The 6055B is housed in a 19 inch wide, 3 1/2 inch high, 15 inch deep, ruggedised rack mountable sheet metal cabinet and is powered by 100 to 240 VAC, 50 to 400 Hz
- Decodes and inserts IRIG time into ten asynchronous video signals
- Generates and inserts up to 22 lines of 30 alphanumeric characters each into each video channel
- Two fonts, selectable by front panel switch, keyboard or via RS232 port
- Built in countdown clock synchronised with applied IRIG B time signal
ITS America design and manufacture video instrumentation and timing systems for the defence and industrial market. Products include both stand-alone and VMEbus and PC card configurations such as video insertion, video data encoding, video synchronisation systems and IRIG time code readers.
