Now available from Metromatics , FUTEK PMP941 miniature pressure sensors have been added to the USB sensor solution line.

The new pressure sensor module with the USB output eliminates the need for an analog amplifier, power supply, and display equipment making usage easier. The plug and play function gives allows the user to monitor the output of the sensor and enjoy measurement that is less affected by noise, temperature variation or power supply requirement. The USB integration also includes FUTEK’s USB software which allows users to monitor the output of the sensor in real time.

PMP941 miniature pressure sensors are suitable for several industrial applications and can withstand harsh environments. The small size and lightweight, titanium design makes the pressure sensors ideal for tough vibration and shock environments, resistant to extreme temperatures, and ideal for corrosive fluid environments. The mini pressure sensors are recommended for applications involving rough handling or where a completely hermetically sealed transducer is required. All subsea applications such as Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicles – ROV’s, and subsea Christmas Trees as well as Offshore Testing, Fossil Fuel Exploration and Cargo Level Gauging are suitable for the PM941.

The PM941 pressure sensors are constructed entirely from titanium with a small mass moulded cable and weighs < 10g. Manufactured from one piece of titanium construction is from a miniature design, allowing a thin diaphragm and heavy side walls. The design produces a very sensitive but extremely rugged pressure sensor able to cover the entire pressure range of up to 5,800 PSI. PM941 miniature pressure sensors feature an all welded rugged design to provide a high degree of compatibility with a very lightweight construction and uses thin film gauge technology.

The pressure sensors can be custom designed for specialised applications.

The sensor provides high performance with an output of 5V DC from a 5V DC +/- 10Mv supply. Input pressure range is 73 PSI up to 5800 PSI, withstanding vibrations of up to 50g at up to 20-2000Hz.
