DATAMETRICS Corporation has announced the Model 1960 lightweight, colour, Windows-compatible ink jet printer, available from Metromatics .

The printer is housed in a ruggedised aluminium corrosive-resistant enclosure engineered to withstand a wide range of severe environmental applications.

The 32-lb printer is fully operational from temperatures of -20°C to +50°C, 10 to 90 per cent RH humidity and altitudes from sea level to 15,000 feet.

The model 1960 was specifically designed to be adaptable to airborne, shipboard, mobile and sheltered applications, and is configurable for rack mounting.

It has corrosive-resistant components and hardware, and is resistant to fungus growth.

The model 1960 holds up to 150 sheets for letter, legal, A4 and A5 sheets sizes and provides up to 12 pages a minute in colour and 15 pages in black, at 2400 x 1200dpi photo-quality resolution.

In addition, the 1960 is a unique Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) product that can be configured to customer-specific electrical and mechanical interface - without the need for non-recurring engineering.

Options such as rack mounting, custom vibration isolation, dc operation, internal battery operation, Ethernet 10/100 TX and USB connectivity can be implemented easily to reduce customer cost.
