GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms have announced the DDR-300 digital data recorder and the DSC-300 signal conditioner, which are available from Metromatics. Both are designed for use in harsh environments that are subject to extremes of heat, vibration and shock (the DDR-300 digital data recorder meets the MIL-STD810F standard), conditions which prohibit the use of conventional rackmount units.
The DDR-300 digital data recorder and DSC-300 signal conditioner are rugged, compact and light weight, allowing them to be field deployed in space-constrained and weight-constrained environments such as aircrafts and tanks, and in dangerous testing environments that require the units to be nearby.
For applications in which data from numerous sensors must be processed, a primary requirement is to condition the incoming signal-amplifying it, for example-before it can be processed. In many applications, the requirement exists to capture multiple parallel streams of incoming data at high speeds for subsequent analysis. Such applications include test environments with NVH (noise, vibration, harshness), or munitions testing, and the DDR-300 digital data recorder and DSC-300 signal conditioner are suitable in these environments.
Advances in technology are enabling increasing numbers of sensors to be deployed in a range of applications and environments. This creates a requirement to capture process and interpret vast amounts of sensor-derived data in places that are often remote and inhospitable. The DDR-300 digital data recorder and DSC-300 signal conditioner provide high performance cost-effective response to those requirements.
A self contained, ready-to-run field deployable unit, the rugged DDR-300 32-channel or 64-channel digital data recorder includes integral 15” XGA TFT display, USB keyboard and mouse, integrated stereo speakers and support for up to 2.5 Terabytes of high speed. It features a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 2 gigabytes of system memory.
Optionally available are a UPS battery and removable rack-mounting. The DDR-300 digital data recorder weighs less than 25 lbs/12 kilos. The rugged DSC-300 8 channel signal conditioning module, weighs less than 5lbs/2.5Kilos, and is capable of handling either differential or single-ended inputs. It features a built-in buffered output monitor together with a reference input for calibration, and supports voltage, bridge and ICP inputs.
