TFF reaction torque sensor
TFF reaction torque sensor

Futek Advanced Sensor Technology, represented in Australia and New Zealand by Metromatics have just added the TFF reaction torque sensor to their USB sensor solution line. The new model with USB output eliminates the need for an analogue amplifier, power supply, and display equipment making usage easier. The plug and play monitors the output of the sensor and measures without noise, temperature variation or power supply requirement.

The USB integration also includes Futek Advanced Sensor Technology’s USB software, which allows users to monitor the output of the sensor in real time. The TFF reaction torque sensor is available in aluminium construction and features a built in overload protection up to 400 in-oz.

The TFF425 reaction torque sensor can accommodate applications that include automotive braking, engine and transmission dynamometers, torque table, fastener testing, aircraft engine testing and marine shaft torque measurements with shaft horsepower monitors. The TFF425 reaction torque sensor is suitable for torque auditing applications and can be used to evaluate low torque levels using flange to flange connections in-line with the component under test.

Reaction torque sensors are also suitable for measuring or restraining torques found in motor mounts, pump mounts and machine mounts. These sensors can be used in limited rotation applications, such as measuring the torque required to turn a nut or an actuator shaft. The TFF425 reaction torque sensor is designed with flanges, enabling easy installation or adaptation. It is rugged enough for factory use, and accurate enough for the laboratory. Available torque ranges are from 5in-oz. to 500inLb (0.04 to 60Nm).

The TFF425 reaction torque sensor has the following benefits:

  • Designed for torque auditing
  • Aluminium construction
  • Built-in overload protection
  • Strain gauge based

Futek Advanced Sensor Technology can provide signal conditioned displays and VCal portable system brings easy-to-use system verification directly to the customer making it suitable for on site verification and calibration of users’ products. Futek Advanced Sensor Technology TFF series is also available with TEDS/IEEE1451.4 option.
