Futek Advanced Sensor Technology, represented in Australia and New Zealand by Metromatics , have added the LAU220 pedal force load cell to their USB sensor solution line. The LAU220 pedal force load cell is available from Metromatics.

The new module with USB output, eliminates the need for an analogue amplifier, power supply, and display equipment making usage easier. The plug and play monitors the output of the sensor or measures and is not affected by noise, temperature variation or power supply requirement.

The USB integration also includes Futek Advanced Sensor Technology USB software which allows users to monitor the output of the sensor in real time. The LAU220 model is a spike resistant pedal force sensor with improved off centre loading. Spike resistance makes the sensor resistant to impact loads, and provide accurate readings without causing any damage.

The LAU220 pedal force load cell is suitable for the automotive industry. IT offers a measurement system with better tolerances. This unit comes with removable mounting plates, custom built strain relief, and a machined slip resistant top surface and uses metal foil strain gauge technology.

Pedal force load cells are used in automotive applications such as brake pedal force measurement, vehicle brake homologation, and high precision trigger for brake testing equipment. This type of sensor is designed to measure force that is required to operate a vehicle’s primary brake, clutch, or floor mounted emergency brake pedals. The LAU220 pedal force load cell has two different mounting plates, which are easy to install and removes along with a shunt cal resistor and carrying case.
