SBS Technologies, represented in Australia by Metromatics Pty Ltd , has introduced the ABI-PC104-2 and the ASF-PC104-2 extended temperature MIL-STD-1553 interface cards for a PC/104 backplane.

Based on an advanced, high-speed DSP, the ABI-PC104-2 interface card operates in a wide range of temperatures and provides a flexible, full-function dual channel, dual redundant ABI architecture, equipping a PC/104 bus system with a complete 1553 interface.

The 1553 interface includes 1553A/1553B selections, pointer-driven transmit and receive buffers and extensive programmable event interrupts.

The card's ABI architecture allows developers to configure the ABI-PC104-2 as a Bus Controller (BC), Bus Monitor (BM) or Remote Terminal (RT) either concurrently or independently depending on the application.

The dual channel, single function ASF-PC104-2 interface is based on an advanced, high-speed DSP and gives embedded developers an economical card for applications that require only one of the BC, RT, or BM functions.

Through the 128KB of dual port RAM, the host processor has access to set up, monitor and change the 1553 interface data structures at any time.

The ABI-PC104-2 and ASF-PC104-2 boards include host processor device drivers and APIs.

Also included is the Integrated Avionics Library with source code and low level drivers for most operating systems at no additional cost.
