Dytran portable vibration meters, Model 4190 now available from Metromatics

Supplier News

DYTRAN Instruments announces its new portable vibration meters the 4190, an excellent tool for field testing accelerometers, now available from Metromatics . Model 4190 portable vibration meters can be used in conjunction with a hand-held shaker for sensor validation. The model 4190 portable vibration meters convert the vibration signal from a 10 mV/g or 100 mV/g IEPE accelerometer to the PEAK value of the vibration signals generated by these sensors.

Key features of the portable vibration meters include:

  • Reads PEAK vibration in G’s on a large digital front panel meter
  • Works with 10 mV/g IEPE accelerometers
  • Built in signal conditioning for 10 mV/g and 100 mV/g accelerometers
  • Switch selected full scale ranges of 2g, 20g and 50g
  • Operates from two 9V batteries
  • Bias test switch to verify proper accelerometer operation
  • Output jack to view the vibration signal on an oscilloscope
  • LED indicator to confirm accelerometer connection
  • Low battery LED indicator
The 4190 portable vibration meters have a built in power supply that provides 2 mA of current at +18 VDC compliance to operate either a 10mV/g or 100mV/gIEPE accelerometer. Two rotary switches allow the user to select between a 10 mV/g and 100 mV/g accelerometer input and full scale ranges of 2g, 20g and 50g. The 4190 portable vibration meters feature a large digital front panel meter, a bias test switch to verify proper accelerometer operation, and an output jack for monitoring the output signal of the accelerometer with an oscilloscope. Two replaceable 9V batteries allow for 10 hours of continuous operation. Applications of the portable vibration meters include accelerometer performance validation and field vibration monitoring where PEAK G’s is desired.
