QUICKLABEL Systems has announced the release of the new Pronto 472 barcode printer -- an effective Just-In-Time production management tool.

By printing sub-assembly status and location information labels at the point-of-use, with one or two-dimensional barcodes and crisp text, it provides job costing, materials purchasing and labour assignment forecasts.

Other identification, tracking and labelling applications include: air & ground shipping, automotive AIAG labels, circuit board ID, fixed asset tracking, pallet labels, receiving, wire marking, warehouse management, warranty and service tracking.

The printer is compatible with most label creation software packages and supports the programming languages used by Zebra and Datamax. All barcode symbologies are supported, including 2D Maxicode, PDF 417 and QR Code.

Manufactured for high volume production it features a printing mechanism that flips open for fast, easy label and thermal transfer ribbon loading.

Crisp, sharp registration is maintained because printhead, ribbon and labels are locked firmly in place.

Specifications include a print speed of 2-7 inches per second; print resolution of 203dpi; print mode of batch, demand/peel, tear, and cut; memory of 2MB DRAM; and a print width of 25mm to 104mm. Metromatics 07 3868 4255.
