Metalsistem Australia 's distributor Bowen Group has previously supplied a Super 1/2/3 two tier shelving system for Bearing Wholesalers' Melbourne warehouse, and has now been selected for the third time to supply and install pallet racking and a raised storage area in the company's new Sydney premises.
Rather than opting for a two tier system, Metalsistem's Melbourne based distributor Bowen Group has offered Bearing Wholesalers a raised storage area using pallet racking construction.
This installation will consist of Metalsistem Superbuild pallet racking, and a Superbuild raised storage area fitted out with Super 1-2-3 shelving above and below the structure.
The original specification was for longspan racking with particle board for the shelving, but Bowen Group provided an alternative option of using the Super 1-2-3 shelving, which can be fitted in between the racking frames.
This proved to be an ideal choice as it gave the customer a flexible solution, allowing them to leave off some bays to create a walkway under the raised floor area. Also, using the Super 1-2-3 shelving series allowed for easier and quicker shelf level adjustment.
Metalsistem's distributor gave a further option, which was also selected by the customer, to fit all lower levels with the standard Super 1-2-3 metal shelf panels as opposed to particle board shelves.
The metal shelves were chosen as the customer commented saying, "this is the best shelving system I have ever seen, so easy to use."
The Superbuild pallet racking system was also fitted with metal shelf panels in the lower beam levels. The customer has decided to use Superbuild and metal panels in all their future racking installations.
The overall installation consisted of a raised storage area of 135 square meters in total area, complete with timber flooring, staircase, and safety loading gate.
Along with approximately 50 bays of Superbuild pallet racking and 230 bays of Super 123 shelving, this fit out served to provide Bearing Wholesalers with maximum storage in a minimum footprint, in order to competitively enter the NSW bearing market.
