Megger’s earth testing range includes models powered by rechargeable batteries and additional versions with variable test frequency. The weatherproof and dustproof earth testers also come in kit options.
Megger’s DET4TD2 earth testers with replaceable batteries and DET4TR2 earth testers with rechargeable cells support popular ground resistance test methods such as two, three and four pole testing.
Variable test frequency
Megger offers the DET4TC2 earth tester powered by standard AA batteries and the DET4TCR2 earth tester, which uses rechargeable batteries for demanding applications requiring maximum versatility. The DET4TCR2 has an integral battery charger and is supplied complete with a mains adaptor.
These earth testers support two, three and four pole testing, as well as Attached Rod Technique (ART), stakeless, leakage current and earth noise voltage measurement. Users can also select the test frequency from one of four options: 94Hz, 105Hz, 111Hz and 128Hz, making it easy even in difficult situations to choose a frequency that minimises the effects of interference.
The maximum resistance that can be measured has been increased to 20 kΩ on the DET4TD and TR models, and 200 kΩ on the DET4TC and TCR models.
Kit options for Megger’s earth resistance testers:
- Basic kits include the instrument, a tough hard carrying case, a stake and wire kit (15m, 10m and 3m lengths) plus, for rechargeable models, a mains unit
- Adaptor kits come with right angle terminal adaptors to connect bare wires to terminals
- Kits for ART and stakeless testing for DET4TC models
