The Drexelbrook CCS4000 clarity control monitor has the following features:

The Drexelbrook CCS4000 clarity control monitor controls clarifier and thickener operations in up to four water or wastewater treatment vessels automatically.

In addition to measuring the sludge blanket level with better repeatability, the Drexelbrook CCS4000 clarity control monitor measures the lighter rag layer that forms above the compacted sludge blanket. With the added benefit of a clarity loss measurement, the Drexelbrook CCS4000 clarity control monitor can be used to automatically control clarifiers/thickeners for optimum operation and maximum efficiency.

The sludge level output can be used to ensure that only the dense sludge is removed from the vessel, decreasing pumping and disposal costs. The rag layer output can track the settling characteristics of the vessel and control the flocculent pump. Adding flocculent only when necessary can reduce chemical usage and costs.

Optimum operation also requires proper blanket management. If the blanket becomes too thick, mechanical breakdowns and/or de-nitrification can occur. Conversely, a blanket that is too thin results in inefficient process operation and increased disposal costs.

The sludge blanket level measurement gives users real time data required for keeping the blanket level within the specified operating range. The Drexelbrook CCS4000 clarity control monitor is suitable for circular or rectangular clarifiers and thickeners.
