Especially for use when installation space is limited, Maxon Motor have launched their flat motor, EC9.2 flat. With its outer rotating rotor, the drive offers high nominal torque, smooth running and minimal size.

EC 9.2 flat is a large-scale torque in small-sized packaging. The motor with dimensions of Ø10 x 12.5mm offers a high nominal torque of up to 0.83 mNm and a stall torque of up to 1.29 mNm. Its outer diameter of 10 mm includes even a protective cover that serves, on one hand, as protection against contact and, on the other hand, as mounting aid during installation of the motor. It is equipped with a 8-pole Neodymium permanent magnet and preloaded ball bearings.

Sintered sleeve bearings are optionally available. Also available is a hall sensor and sensorless version. When employed in combination with planetary gearheads, generally less reduction stages must be calculated due to the motor’s high nominal torque. The drive fulfills medical technology’s quality standard ISO 13485 which means, among other aspects, compliance with rigid quality requirements and guaranteed traceability of individual components.

The motor stands out with its compact design targeted on areas with limited space available, its high nominal torque and the lifespan-optimized bearings. This, for instance, permits the use of the EC 9.2 flat as ideal drive in medical technology applications (portable appliances, pumps and metering systems, mobile analysers, etc.) or in industrial applications (pumps for miniature fuel cells, battery-powered systems, etc.).
