Maxon Motor Australia  presents a new range of brushless DC 90mm flat motors featuring an ultra slim design for use in high-precision applications and positioning tasks.

The brushless DC flat motors incorporate the miniature MILE encoder that can be integrated into the motor without adding length to it.

MILE or Maxon's Inductive Little Encoder is one of the world's smallest inductive rotary encoders with its operating principle based on the detection of high frequency inductivity, which generates eddy current in an electrically conducting target. The high frequency inductive method of measurement offers several advantages when compared to traditional encoders.

  • Withstands dust and oil vapour, eliminating the need for additional protective measures
  • High speed
  • Insensitivity to interference pulses
The new brushless DC flat motors with MILE encoders offer a remarkably higher nominal torque of 517 nMn, compared to the predecessor model equipped with an optical encoder. With resolutions of up to 3200 impulses per turn, the motors are also extremely precise, making them ideal for applications such as door drives, logistic robots or solar trackers.

The motor is distinguished by optimal integration of the MILE encoder and combines state-of-the-art with tried and tested features such as the flange pattern, fixation and pin assignment, which are all identical to its predecessor.
