MACHINE automation specialist Advanced Sheetmetal Technologies has increased its focus to provide companies in Australia and New Zealand with a specific consultancy on how to extract the most from their automation through the latest software and software applications.
The new software solutions and support team is headed by automation software specialist Greg Dennis.
He is among the most experienced in machine programming in Australia, bringing on board more than 20 years knowledge and skill largely gained by his involvement as a programmer in high output sheetmetal shops.
Mr Dennis says that it was imperative for AST to step up its software focus as feedback from industry loudly and clearly told the company there was a gap in the market.
"In only a few short years, it is quite remarkable how advanced automation software has become," said Mr Dennis.
"The modern software allows maximum production from virtually any machine so it has placed a lot of niche Australian operators in a position where they can compete on high terms not just in their domestic market but also as globally competitive entities.
"Therefore, it is a must for them to know the extent to which they can obtain productivity gains from their software investments, which will all go towards delivering an optimised bottom line.
