Latest sheetmetal technology on show

ADVANCED Sheetmetal Technologies (AST) will be at Austech Stand 3303 with the company's largest equipment display ever shown at an exhibition during National Manufacturing Week 2006 at Sydney's Darling Harbour, from May 30 to June 2.

This initiative is intended to enable visitors to actively participate in wide-ranging demonstrations across all AST's equipment lines.

AST products on display will include:

* The FINN-POWER C6 compact express turret/punch/press, which requires only a small footprint in a corner of a plant. Another FINN-POWER item, the E Brake 80/2500 press brake, will also be demonstrated.

* Schroeder manual shears, folding machines and panel folding units.

* Prinzing manual duct-making units, including a beading machine, roll, circular shears and a seam closing unit.

* Kuhlmeyer surface finishing machine and manipulator.

Other products on the AST stand will include high quality press brake machines from Yangli and Gasparini, a MATE tool grinder and an inspection scanner from InspectVision.

Having recently signed several new distribution agreements and set up a software supply division as well as a general consulting arm, the company aims to show exactly how easily sheet metal automation can be integrated and how this can quickly improve productivity in a manufacturing plant.

To encourage sheet metal specialists of the future, the AST stand will highlight top students from each of four Sydney TAFE colleges in a work skills challenge during each day of the show.
