MATE Precision Tooling, represented in Australia by Advanced Sheetmetal Technologies , has released 19-Inch Racking Cluster tooling. It fabricates mounting holes in electronic enclosures with a special feature that makes rack positioning fast and easy.
It is designed for punching industry-standard 19-inch enclosures and consists of a punch, stripper and die assembly. The punch is a solid cluster of three punch points on 15.87mm centres. The two outer punches are 9.50mm2 while the middle punch of the same size has a special protrusion on two sides.
When the turret press is programmed to move the sheet to be punched in 44.45mm increments the correct hole pattern is punched precisely and quickly. The centre punch protrusion feature produces a positioning and centring slot that facilitates accurate and easy installation of racks into 19-inch wide punched enclosure boxes.
The punching process is faster than single-point punching and meets DIN 41494 and IEC 297 international standards. In addition to the 19-inch enclosure hole pattern, Mate's Racking Cluster tooling is also available in custom hole shapes and sizes for non-standard applications. The tooling is available in multiple tooling styles including fully-guided design and is available for all popular turret punch press models. These include Amada, Finn Power, Murata Wiedemann, Euromac, Pivatic and Strippit machines.
