The new IP65-rated Avery Dennison ALS 20X models are perfect for dairy, beverage and meat plants.
The new IP65-rated Avery Dennison ALS 20X models are perfect for dairy, beverage and meat plants.

MATTHEWS Intelligent Identification has launched the new Avery Dennison ALS 204 and 206 label applicators in Australia. The models are among the first in the new generation, replacing the ALS 230 and 330 models.

"The ALS 204/206 family has much quicker dispensing speeds,” said Matthews' product manager for labelling solutions, Richard Brearley.

“For instance, the 204 runs at 40m per minute and the 206 at 30m, whereas the 230 and 330 ran at 30m and 25m, respectively.

“This gives the manufacturer much more flexibility to react to plant needs, say moving a labeller from one line to the next if they need faster speeds."

The units have high levels of connectivity. Any company with an Internet connection can access the label applicator's menu system and perform remote diagnostics.

The label applicators feature aluminium die mould construction. No dust ingress is an excellent feature for the food and beverage industries.

No water ingress means that even accidental hosing of the unit will not harm the product as water will not get in and break down electrical components.

The ALS 204/206 family is suitable for all self-adhesive materials and decorative labels, along with labels for logistical applications.

A label size of up to 160mm in width gives the ALS 204/206 great flexibility to meet the varying manufacturing and marketing needs of producers.

The units are RFID ready, including ‘bad tag’ separation.

The 204/206 units have a variety of dispensing edges to meet labelling requirements and can apply to varying and difficult shapes, with an array of materials.

The units also work well with tandem applications, where two applicators work together allowing a continuous production line, without having to stop to mount an additional label roll.
