Matthews Intelligent Identification has signed an extended 10-year exclusive distribution agreement with Linx Printing Technologies Ltd, to distribute its ink jet and thermal product range throughout Australia.
Matthews, a leading Australian coding, labelling and automatic data capture specialist, has held the exclusive Australian distributorship for these Linx product lines for the past 19 years.
The signing took place during a recent visit to Australia by Linx executives, including Linx MD, Mark Verheyden.
Matthews’ CEO, Lester Nichol, says signing the agreement, effective from 1 March, is testament to the consistent results and strength of partnership Matthews has achieved throughout its association with Linx.
“It also demonstrates the confidence Linx, and its owner the Danaher Corporation, have both in our future direction and our ability to continue our ascendance.” The landmark agreement is significant on several fronts.
“In an era where there is significant change and consolidation globally of coding and labelling manufacturers and channels to market, this agreement demonstrates the strength of the relationship that exists between Matthews and Linx Printing Technologies.”
The agreement provides Matthews and its expanding customer base in Australia with stability and tremendous confidence for the future.

Based in the UK, Linx is a world-leading manufacturer of coding and marking solutions for date and batch coding of products and packaging. Matthews’ customer base for Linx products in Australia spans a host of manufacturing sectors, from FMCG through to heavy industrial.
“Linx’s versatility and robustness, combined with our local integration capability and national technical resources, suit the printers to a wide range of coding applications,” Nichol says. “In turn, this allows Matthews, as coding specialists, to demonstrate we have the right solution for customers’ long term needs.”
Matthews will release the latest Linx, the new, 6900 high-speed continuous inkjet printer at Auspack, 1-4 May, Melbourne Exhibition Centre, on stand 224.
