MATTHEWS Intelligent Identification has released the Linx 4900, a two-line continuous inkjet printer designed for food, pharmaceutical, and washdown environments.
It is clean in operation and print quality and requires minimal operator intervention. It has been engineered for reliability to give a low cost of ownership. The stainless steel cover has no dirt traps and liquids slide off the surface. The IP55-rated covering protects it from washdown environments such as food and dairy packaging, without the added cost of factory air.
To shut down the printer operator presses a single button at the end of the shift. The print-head valve system and full auto-flush facility automatically clean the print-head before it powers down.
The inkjet control system manages print-head temperature, time of flight, and ink pressure, giving trouble-free viscosity control and consistent print quality. Ink and solvent refilling is mess free. The print-head is sealed, with no need for manual print-head adjustments. This protects critical components from damage that could affect print quality.
Running parameters are automatically adjusted and the printer provides on-screen diagnostics. The menu-driven screens give fast access to all printer functions. The printer has a clear, bright screen, and full-size keyboard.
The Linx 4900 can store up to 50 messages. A preview screen makes message selection easy. The system can print logos and graphics and it has a wide range of ready-to-use date, time, sequential number, and shift-coding formats from which to choose.
