Product identification specialist Matthews Australasia will be presenting a range of coding, labelling, vision and product traceability solutions at the upcoming FoodPro exhibition in June.
Product traceability and processing accuracy are hot topics for Australia’s manufacturing industry. According to Mark Dingley, general manager of operations at Matthews Australasia, any area where manufacturers can reduce waste or cost and improve efficiency is of vital interest.
This year’s FoodPro will provide a platform for Matthews to exhibit their solutions, particularly for vision inspection and checkweighing.
The checkweighing range includes the weighprice labeller, a reliable, compact, fully automatic machine, which precisely weighs and labels goods, and can be integrated into existing production lines.
Matthews will, in conjunction with iQVision, also demonstrate their vision systems, and show how a business of any size can incorporate this technology for inspection, guidance, identification, measurement, tracking and counting across a range of industries. Vision systems are used to inspect barcodes, validate label presence and positioning, check closures, inspect product fill levels and content, and sort products based on marking among many others.
Matthews’ Linx thermal transfer overprinters (TTO) code on to flexible packaging films and self-adhesive labels, and are typically used for snackfoods, confectionary and fresh produce to print date and batch codes, logos, product descriptions, ingredients lists, nutritional panels and fully compliant barcodes. The IP-rated version is ideal for washdown food manufacturing environments.
Coders will also include the Linx continuous inkjet or CIJ coders such as the 5900, 7900 and new CJ400 models. The CJ400 is self-serviceable, portable, simple to use and ideal for small or remote businesses.
FoodPro will hit Melbourne June 22-25 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. Held every three years, FoodPro showcases technologies and innovations in Australia’s food manufacturing and processing industries.
Matthews will be on stand H18 at the FoodPro.
