Version two of Matthews Intelligent Identification ’s Package Code Management (PCM) software, iDSnet Manager, will be launched at the upcoming AUSPACK PLUS 2011 trade show.
Locally developed, iDSnet suite integrates all coding and labelling equipment to deliver a true product traceability solution throughout manufacturing businesses, creating more streamlined operations.
Mark Dingley headed up the IDS group within Matthews that developed the PCM software, and says that the latest release provides a host of advantages for manufacturers.
“It’s flexible, so a manufacturer can customise it to their individual business needs, and it shows staff exactly what’s happening on the production floor,” he comments.
iDSnet version two is also capable of automatically generating emails when equipment maintenance is required, says Mark, “plus gives printer status alerts for warning and fault messages. All this allows for better decision making to increase plant operating efficiency.”
iDSnet Manager collects data from every coding and labelling station, as well as other input sources that are directly related to collecting reliable production throughput of primary, secondary and pallet volumes, Mark explains.
“It uses this data to run dashboard reports, with in depth, real time production line performance monitoring, giving actual production efficiencies, including idle times and breakdowns, plus reports on what’s causing production stoppages,” he adds.
Along with these reports, the PCM software connects in with shop floor scoreboards, providing operators and other staff with real time information on production efficiencies, as well as alerting them to issues so that they can be quickly addressed.
iDSnet Manager version two will be demonstrated alongside iDSnet Enterprise at AUSPACK PLUS 2011. Matthews Intelligent Identification will be located on stand 102.
