Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has approved the ingredients in Linx’s Blue Food Grade Ink 6220 and Food Grade Solvent (Blue) 6650 for use in food and contact with food. Matthews Intelligent Identification has the exclusive distribution agency for Linx inks in Australia.

While not approving products or formulations, FSANZ authorises the use of specific chemicals for food production and packaging in Australia and New Zealand.

Matthews’ Phil Biggs says the FSANZ approval follows earlier approval from both the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Union regulations.

“The Linx food-grade inks are for the Linx 7300FG. This coder has all the benefits of the Linx 7300 high-speed continuous inkjet (CIJ) printer, and achieves the same high quality print results with food-grade inks.”

Developed, tested and manufactured by Linx, the food-grade inks contain only edible, raw materials. The inks are tested extensively during development and manufactured according to strict specifications, resulting in a high level of quality assurance.
