The 2014 Master Electricians Australia (MEA) National Excellence Awards saw some of the brightest electricians from New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory take home the top honours for their outstanding contributions to the local industry.
Newcastle-based GB Electrical Contractors, who has serviced the Newcastle, Hunter Region and Central Coast regions for 19 years, was announced as the NSW/ACT Accredited Master Electrician of the Year.
GB Electrical Contractors Director Darren Andrews said it was an honour to be recognised as the best in the region, adding that the award also created an opportunity to showcase his business to the rest of the country. As one of the winners, he will now compete at the national level.
He said that the company stays ahead of the competition by providing a comprehensive and really diverse range of electrical and mechanical services for industrial, commercial and domestic clients. GB Electrical Contractors looks forward to competing against the best from around the country in the national awards.
Winners of the NSW/ACT MEA Excellence Awards also include: Residential Project of the Year – Greenelec for their Northern Beaches Retirement Haven project; Commercial Project of the Year – Alland Group for their Doltone House, Hyde Park project; Industrial/Mining Project of the Year – Connect Electrical Contractors for their Mobile Multi-Barrier Water Treatment System in Barangaroo; and Apprentice of the Year – Jacob O’Grady from Cromack Electrics.
The national winners will be announced at a gala dinner during MEA’s 2014 Electrical Industry Conference at Noosa in September.
MEA State Manager Jody McGann said the awards were a wonderful opportunity to recognise outstanding quality, attention to detail and high standards of professionalism within the industry.
Ms McGann explains that being an Accredited Master Electrician is all about being the best in the business with a commitment to safety, reliability and innovation.
