The Vulcan 9 can produce and edit underground designs much quicker than its previous versions. Object attributes are user-defined in the Vulcan 9 and calculated attributes can be derived ‘on-the-fly’ using the object itself or other object attributes. Attributes can access block model and raw information for auto-reserve.
With the improved attribute editor, users can now edit user-defined attributes. This will save time with visibility options linked to expanded object attributes.
The look-ahead feature with the centre line tool means users can see designs as they evolve without needing to switch in and out of the tool panel. The panels have also got a makeover. More modernised, it is easier to use and requires less training.
Start and end gradient definition permits designing centre line segments with smoothly changing grade. Changes to related functionality such as the corner peel tool will improve workflow.
The underground ring design has been simplified for quicker setup and processing. Upgrades have been made to sectioning triangulations. This means it can section solids using a ring section value meaning users do not have to manually create stope shapes.
Improvements in graphic loading times now mean large ring datasets will load in seconds, not minutes. Users can rename rings with a configurable naming system and improved ring reserving tools are available.
Maptek has also released the latest I-Site 8200 and the latest I-Site tools for modelling stopes, headings and tunnels.
