Manufacturing Learning Australia establishes lean network

Supplier News

Manufacturing Learning Australia  has established the Central West lean network to support the implementation of competitive manufacturing in regional NSW.

The network has attracted enterprises from Orange, Dubbo and Parkes in the Central West of NSW. The network is also supported by the local industry capability network, Lean Australia and reframing the future.

The 18-member network has access to the industry experience of the facilitator, Barry Luttrell, and the lean consultant, Brian Levitan. Their expertise provides members with learning, support materials and ongoing mentoring in lean principles, lean tools, process improvements and development of skills and competencies to sustain improvements.

Each member applies their lean learning to implement their own work based competitive manufacturing project, and the group provides feedback on their progress and helps to find solutions to challenges.

The outcomes are profound with immediate reductions in waste and improvements in productivity from applying the lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping and error proofing.
