Manitou has launched, as standard, a new attachment recognition system, dubbed E-Reco, for its latest generation of equipment.
According to the company it will come as standard on its range of rotative telescopic trucks MRT EASY and the MRT PRIVILIGE+, which were both unveiled at Bauma earlier this year.
The system uses RFID radio-identification technology.
By using this autonomous technique the system can recover and record data remotely, and now allows the machine to automatically detects the attachment at the head of the boom, analyse its data and directly propose the corresponding working configuration.
This technology also provides the load chart in real time, taking into account the rotation angle of the turret and the position of the machine's stabilisers, in accordance with the standard relative to mobile cranes.
"Simple and intuitive, it lets all MRT users work easily while making best use of the machine's potential," Manitou's Olivier Vasseur, the product line manager - attachments, said.
"The automatic calculation of the load chart, adapted to the attachment in place, safely optimises the use of the rotative telescopic truck," he added.
The technology can also be retrofitted with the attachment-recognition system simply by adapting RFID kits.
